Online Centre for all Catalogues used on this site

  • NGCIC image archive

Thanks to Bob Erdmann for allowing me to link to his images on www.ngcic.org.

  • The Caldwell Catalogue

Subset of the NGC Object ID's entered by hand.

  • The Herschel 400 Catalogue

Subset of the NGC Object ID's entered by hand, manually excluded all objects also listed in Messier and Caldwell Catalogues.

  • The Messier Catalogue

Subset of the NGC Object ID's entered by hand.

  • The NGC and IC Catalogue

The catalogue is a modern, revised, and expanded version of the original NGC (Dreyer 1888). In addition to incorporating the many corrections to the NGC found over the years, each object was verified on Palomar Observatory Sky Survey (POSS) prints and on plates for southern objects specifically taken for the purpose (although about 90 southern objects could not be verified).

  • The Yale Bright Star Catalogue

The Bright Star Catalogue (5th Revised Ed. Preliminary Version) is widely used as a source of basic astronomical and astrophysical data for stars brighter than magnitude 6.5.
